Contract:

Contract value is over £2m and is for a fixed number of parts. Contract duration will vary according to customer delivery requirements.

History:

Newburgh has a long history of supplying Cummins with various parts. Cummins had a need to increase the capacity of their factory and identified the early machining operations as being suitable for sub-contracting. They went out to tender for what they called debarking machining. We proposed the setting up of a bespoke production cell as being the most cost-effective solution. Newburgh presented their proposal, including a detailed cost model for the cell and details of the machinery. A long-term contract was agreed which justified out investment and gave our customer guaranteed security of supply. The cell is now fully operational and quality and delivery are exceptional.
